Convert poorase coniferous forests to biodiverse, climate-robust, mixed deciduous forests.
Ecoflora
The project
Our core philosophy: an ecological approach to gardens and public green spaces, where both people and nature take center stage. Gardening becomes so much more enjoyable when we work with nature instead of constantly (fruitlessly) trying to hinder it.
At our nursery, you’ll find the plants, products, and expertise you need to create your nature-rich garden.
We supply both private individuals and professionals (garden landscaping, landscape architecture, green services, public authorities, etc.).

Ecoflora and Natuurpunt/Natagora are joining forces. Ecoflora supports Natuurpunt and Natagora with a financial contribution (of several thousand euros) on the sale of flower meadows and nesting boxes/feeding systems. In addition, Ecoflora offers a 5% discount at the checkout and through the webshop to Natuurpunt and Natagora members on all products upon presentation of a membership card or membership number (for online orders) with a visible expiration date.
Ecoflora recently supported a green urban project, Plukpark Rodenem, in Halle, by donating numerous fruit trees and vegetable plants.
Ecoflora works closely with Velt vzw on several projects, such as the eco-garden days they organize annually.
Ecoflora has local roots, allowing several social organizations to benefit from surplus planting material: Met vriendelijk groente vzw (With Friendly Vegetables), Wildgroei woekert vzw (Wild Growth Woekert). In recent years, leftover flower bulbs have been donated to organizations such as Fedasil, berrefonds, De okkernoot, and others.

Long-term maintenance
At Ecoflora, the plants are maintained with minimal impact on biodiversity. No mechanical weeding, no use of herbicides or pesticides. Beneficial insects are used for pest control where necessary. Natural areas of the nursery are managed ecologically: branch ridges, hedgerows, natural mixed hedges, borders with native perennials, and more.
Benefits
- Ecoflora sells not only plants, seeds, seedlings, and seed potatoes, but also nesting boxes, bird feeders, feeders, and organic garden products and tools.
- Ecoflora offers various training courses, advice, and customized solutions. For professional clients, a customized in-house flower meadow course is also available.
- You don’t necessarily have to visit the nursery in Halle: Ecoflora recently launched collection points in the Leuven, Antwerp, Ghent, Kempen, and Westhoek regions.
- Ecoflora also organizes activities, such as the reopening weekend, with a tour of the nursery, an inspirational session, and much more!
